Summary: This book covers a comprehensive range of topics in quantitative methods for business students. The opening chapters introduce basic statistical concepts which are used in later chapters in business and management applications. Each chapter uses a step-by-step approach, with introductory short illustrations introducing a real situation. The text then develops the required techniques by using a range of worked examples and student exercises. Every chapter includes a section on computer applications and computer exercises, where a range of software including Lotus, Excel, SPSS and Microsoft Project are demonstrated as applied to the specific topics. A disk, cross-referenced to file names included in the margins of the text, is available separately to lecturers and students, and provides examples and exercises on Excel and Lotus spreadsheets for each of the main topics covered.
