This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 4th International Conference on Image and Video Retrieval, CIVR 2005, held in Singapore, in July 2005. The 20 revised full papers and 42 poster papers presented together with an introduction and 4 invited papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 128 submissions.
